EMDR Intensive Therapeutic Sessions:

I am currently offering EMDR Intensive sessions which means that we would meet for 1-5 days of consecutive EMDR treatment. The length of time each day can be discussed and agreed upon together, but the minimum is 4 hours.

The benefit of EMDR Intensives is that it allows us to work uninterrupted for several days to address a traumatic memory that a client would like to work on. This can help to expedite the healing process and help the client to alleviate symptoms in just a few days as opposed to over weeks or months at a time. Some clients really enjoy and benefit from this type of work but everyone’s results will be different.

Intensives have less of an impact on a client’s weekly schedule. Intensives are a more efficient use of time because with a regular weekly EMDR session, there are check ins and wrap ups. By the time we get into the crux of the memory, it is time to start wrapping up. These intensive days help us explore more without interruption and allow us to engage in the process quicker.

An intensive day of EMDR would begin at 9 am and end at 4 Pm with a one-hour break for lunch and breaks as needed by the client. Most Intensives are 2-3 days in length. The minimum hours for an Intensive are 4 hours.

This work can be done virtually. Using an website to use visual and auditory BLS. So you can be in the comfort of your own home while doing the work. In addition to EMDR, I also incorporate IFS (Internal Family Systems) and Polyvagal work into EMDR Intensives.

In addition to the 4 hour intensive, we would start with a pre Intensive session. These sessions are usually for an hour and a half and they are an additional charge as a separate session. During the pre Intensive session, we are reviewing different topics and really helping the client understand what to expect during the intensive and we discuss some other areas.
